Faecal microbiota transplantation continues to evolve. As we advance our understanding, we are finding novel uses of FMT which are reflected in the vast amount of research in the area. This year we discovered more about the mechanisms that help FMT work, as well as some interesting research into its potential therapeutic benefits. We have summarized the most important FMT updates within the last year in this review.
